Properties

The product has antiseptic properties, shows bactericidal action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Treponema spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia spp.), yeasts, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses. It cleans and disinfects the skin without damaging it.

Long-term use of chlorhexidine does not change the local microbial ecosystem, does not lead to the development of superinfection, nor does it influence the appearance of pathogenic bacteria resistant to the preparation.

Directions

Prophylaxis of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes - use no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse).

Postoperative care of patients in the ENT and dental departments.

Disinfection of purulent wounds, bacterial and fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes.

In dentistry (gingivitis, stomatitis, canker sores, periodontitis, alveolitis).

Mode of administration

Externally or topically, in the form of irrigations, gargles and applications.

The affected parts of the skin or mucous membranes are processed with a cotton pad or gauze soaked with 5-10 ml of 0.05% solution with an exposure of 1-3 min 2-3 times a day or irrigation is carried out.

For the postoperative care of patients in the ENT and dental departments, gargles are performed after meals 2-3 times a day.

For the prophylaxis of sexually transmitted diseases, 2-3 ml of the 0.05% solution is inserted into the urethra in men with the help of the applicator; in women, 1-2 ml in the urethra and 5-10 ml in the vagina, keeping the solution for 2-3 min. It is also necessary to process the skin of the internal part of the thighs, pubis, and genitals. After performing the procedure, it is not recommended to urinate within 2 hours.

Side effects

In case of hypersensitivity to the preparation, allergic reactions are possible. If any adverse reaction occurs, use should be discontinued.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine, dermatitis.

Warnings and special precautions for use

The preparation will only be used for external or topical use! Do not swallow the preparation!

The product is incompatible with soap, alkaline solutions and other anionic compounds. The presence of soap can inactivate chlorhexidine, therefore, before using the preparation, it is necessary to thoroughly wash the soap residues.

Avoid contact of the preparation with the mucous membrane of the eye. In case of accidental contact, immediately wash the eyes with plenty of water.
