Composition for an envelope:

active substance: magnesium sulfate heptahydrate - 20 g.

Properties:

Magnesium sulfate is a preparation with a spasmolytic, laxative, cholagogic effect.

Directions

Constipation, purging of the colon, preparation of the colon for radioscopic and endoscopic examinations, probes, cholangitis, cholecystitis, heavy metal poisoning: arsenic, lead tetraethyl; soluble debarium salts (antidote).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the preparation, hypocalcemia, severe bradycardia, atrio-ventricular block, renal failure, myasthenia, acute inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy, age up to 1 year.

Mode of administration

Internally, at night or on an empty stomach 30 minutes before meals.

As a laxative, 10-30 g dissolved in 100 ml of water is indicated for adults, for children - resulting from the calculation of 1.0 g for each year of life, dissolved in 100 ml of water.

As a cholagogue, dissolve the contents of the sachet in 100 ml of water and administer internally 1 tablespoon of the solution 3 times a day.

Side effects

Nausea, vomiting, acute inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.

In case of hypersensitivity to magnesium sulfate, allergic reactions are possible: itching, hives.

If any adverse reaction occurs, use should be discontinued and the family doctor consulted.

Interactions with other drugs

When administered simultaneously with peripheral muscle relaxants, it potentiates the inhibition of neuromuscular transmission. Increases the depressant effects of general anesthetics, hypnotics and other CNS depressants. Calcium ions antagonize the effects of magnesium ions. Magnesium sulfate reduces the absorption of drugs, administered simultaneously internally.

In a place protected from moisture and light, at temperatures below 25 ºC.
